Just Ask Our Tile Installation & Backsplash Contractors
Without further ado, below are some commonly asked questions for our backsplash contractors.
- How many days will installation take? Most of the jobs we do take 2-3 days. If we are completing a demo, lighting, and installing new tiles, that tends to take 4-5 days. Complex patterns and inlays can also impact job times, pushing the time to 3 or 4 days. Do not worry though, we will let you know how long we will need for your project when we send the estimate over to you.
- Do I need to be home during the installation? Not at all. In fact, homeowners are rarely able to be home during our installation hours.
- I have a hood, microwave, or electric stove. Is this a problem? Nope! We can add appliance removal for the appliances that will be tiled around and under and put them back when the job is completed, for an additional fee if you would like.
- Why do you need to know how many outlets and switches I have on the wall space to be tiled? Our backsplash contractors need this information because outlets and switches require new screws and take more time and attention to tile around. Once tiled, longer screws are needed to fit through the tile and back into the outlet and we want to make sure we have everything we need to do the job right!
- Are you insured? Yes! And we are always happy to provide you with a copy of our insurance certificate if you would like.
- What is your lifetime guarantee? Our backsplash contractors stand behind their work and we provide customers with a lifetime guarantee on grout and caulk issues that may arrive due to the settling of the tile or because of temperature changes. However, we cannot cover anything caused by improper cleaning materials or damage caused by the customer.
- Do you make or sell tile? No. While we do not sell tile, we do have accounts with several vendors and stores, and are always happy to provide recommendations!
- How do I know the best tile to use for my space? We recommend having a conversation with the salesperson or designer from your chosen tile vendor about the space to be tiled. Not all tiles are appropriate for all spaces.
- What if my countertop already includes a backsplash? If the backsplash is attached, our contractors will just tile above it. If it is separate from the counter, we do recommend that you remove it, allowing for a cohesive wall tile.
- If I am getting new countertops and cabinets as well, when should the backsplash contractors come? We will install the tiles after the countertops and cabinets are done. Just keep in mind that a countertop with a 4-inch splash will interfere with your backsplash. Contractors can work around it, but we just need to know ahead of time to make sure we have the right amount of materials and everything worked out. Feel free to call us to discuss as you begin planning your kitchen renovation!
- Do you offer discounts? We do! We are proud to offer our military members a discount. However, we do not offer any other discounts. Being an installation company, we would have to discount our services, which would then not cover the costs to pay our trained and experienced installers. A discount shorts our installers of their pay.
- What special measures are you taking in light of Covid? If you feel more comfortable, our backsplash contractor will be happy to wear a mask. We will also sanitize work areas after each day is over, and we will work with you to make sure all social distancing recommendations are followed as well.
